That's correct, Jeff, some USB devices are OK like sound cards. Unfortunately, USB serial devices are not permitted, so rig control will be tricky. There are workarounds like the Pignology, or more recently Bluetooth LE with which Apple decided to be more open for some reason. On Android, on the other hand, as long as your device supports USB in "OTG" mode, all is fine.
