The older Elecraft radios are great radios, not ancient history. My K1 s/n 757 has served me well and I am currently building a K2. I look forward to using the K2 as my primary low power CW rig in the shack and on some vacations, but the K1 will not be retired. The only problem I have ever had with the K1 involved using the K1's internal keyer and a paddle with excessive contact bounce. Maybe I'll post a few words on how I got around that. I look forward to enjoying my new K2 just as much as I have enjoyed my K1.
