Per page 31 of the K3 owners manual sez.... DATA A can be used for all audio-shift transmission modes, including AFSK and PSK-31. VFO A shows the transmit suppressed carrier frequency and USB is normal for DATA A. Compression is automatically set to 0 to reduce transmitted signal distortion.
AFSK A is also an audio-shift transmission but is optimized for RTTY. VFO A displays the RTTY mark frequency and LSB is normal.
