Dick, That must also be a world-record for the longest QSO ever. Alpha Centauri is 4.37 light-years distant from Earth so a round trip would be approximately 8.74 years just to establish a firm contact. Technically, if you guys exchanged the typical signal report, name, qth, and other information you should still be working on waiting for his name. Then, you could have done that in your CQ call itself and saved some time.
