I picked up someone 400km away using only half a spool of wound, untuned solder as a makeshift antenna :-) > I have a question though about the fold-out stand thing. I had to do quite a bit of loosening/tightening of screws until I was happy that the whole stand was fairly straight and neither foot was crooked. It still bends the whole bottom plate, as you describe, particularly if the stand is "out", and indeed, it seems to straighten out when it's properly screwed in with all 6 screws. ... so either it's normal, or mine's just as bad as yours :-/ I did consider taking it apart, sticking the whole bar in a vice and attempting to re-bend it a bit to make it a bit less brutal, but I've been led to believe that this can ruin the fold-out action. -- "Nosey" Nick Waterman, G7RZQ, K2 #5209. use Std::Disclaimer; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Paranoia is simply an optimistic outlook on life. _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
