Aaron, I would not toss it. I just got my K2 serial #5308 back from Don, W3FPR. I bought it used and had Don to put additional options in it as I have bad eyesight. It works great. I am very pleased with it. He did a fantastic job and will work with you to get it right. He will even build and install the SSB option for you. His prices are very reasonable. Don is here on the reflector and has a website. Send him an e-mail and see what you can work out with him. You've got too much money tied up in the radio to just throw it in the trash.

I don't know what else to do. I am really tired of fighting with it and it has become and object of frustration instead of a way to communicate with the world.
