Rich W3ACO is right. K2 or K1 might need sometimes "vitamine".
3 or 6dB is not enough. 20dB is.
A home-brewer´s choice with few dollars is

This is clearly a component of home station.

They told that FCC demands max gain 13dB. So with 15w you get 300W.
Also a 220VAC unit will be available. Small size and weight is tempting,
but still seems to be a part of home station.

100W field operation will take plenty of 12V Amperes.
With small mobile antennas this layout is tempting.
But barefoot 10W can do the same work with wire antenna.

I feel best barefoot everywhere, just rarely QRO at home.
