My AGC is on fast and I have also heard it while transmitting. The crackling I hear sounds exactly like a bad connection and not received noise. Wiggling the plug does not have any effect. It is very intermittent and seems to go away the longer the radio is on. I received several direct emails after my post from other people with this problem. So far I have heard no solutions.

If so, the limiter can be kicking in and cause such crackling. Better than running with AGC off, just leave the AGC on and if you reduce the RF gain to counter strong signals, the AGC action will be reduced. I know old habits die hard, but the K3 is not the same as my old NC-100 receiver and needs to be operated differently. 73, Don W3FPR ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [email protected]
