Hi to the group I am pleased I decided to get my K3s SN 10329 instead of waiting for the parts to upgrade my early K3 457. I don't think my cost was all that much different as I found a buyer for my K3 with all the upgrades I had put in over the years including the sync board. I have now used the K3s for 2 months and while I don't know that I have worked anyone I could not have worked with the K3 I am impressed with how well it works under poor conditions. I appreciate getting rid of the external pre amp, the external sound card and the USB to RS232 interface. I find it easy to use FLDIGI now. When I had all those wires behind my K3 I needed a day of warning before I could do a digital sked.
The sync board made my K3 a top notch performer to sell and it is no different than when I put $3000 in my 12 year old car than had another major problem and decided to trade it in. I have never been sorry and now 5 years later still enjoy the new features of my new car. I hope next time around I get smart quicker and do not put $3000 in this 5 year old car before I trade it off but I do hope to keep driving it a few more years.
