Assuming you are using DATA A mode, the filter defaults to 400 Hz.
Widen the filter width using the Width and Shift knobs to a wide bandpass (2.8kHz) and you should find you have a flat audio output with RX EQ set with all bands at zero.

If you are using SSB mode, there can be other factors involved which are not helpful - use DATA A.
