Yes, I had the same issue last weekend. I rec’d help from several listers
including Dick who showed me the proper syntax for n1mm. Below is the function
key file I used with n1mm.
#NEW VERSION, This Function Key File requires N1MM Logger V12.02.00 or newer
#EDITS REQUIRED, before using this file-----------------------------------------
#SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS, ---------------------------------------------------------
#REM, non-ESM mode <Enter> logs the contact and clears the QSO Entry window
#REM, S&P F1 calls CQ and automatically places the program in RUN mode
#REM, Designed to work in either ESM or non-ESM mode
#REM, F2 F3 F4 F5 use "!" macro for his callsign
#REM, F2 F7 {SENTRST} defaults to 599 or allows manual entry of sig report
#REM, I have shown examples of using "*", "!" as well as {MYCALL}and
#REM, (CALL) for call signs.
#REM, I use MMVARI for digital modes with n1mm because it will
#REM, work with RTTY and PSK31.
#REM, Use DATA sub-mode FSK-D with this file. The file also
#REM, will work with DATA sub-mode PSK-D as well as CW.
#REM, RUN MESSAGES, Run Messages begin here

The "<04>;” is a ^D or ctrl-D which is an EOT (end of transmission) character
from ‘days of olde’ i’m told. The brackets indicate HEX base.
I realize these are for n1mm, your software may be totally different. Hope
this helps, some.
