On the advice of Jim, K9YC, I bought a Hakko to build a K2 recently, along with a couple of tips of different sizes as Don, W3FPR, suggests. Worked great. I haven¹t built a K1, but based on my experience with a K2 I would strongly recommend you buy a ³solder sucker² as well. Very inexpensive, works amazingly well, and saves a great deal of embarassment.
