Mike, If you are using a hardware TNC with your RTTY setup, then it could be many factors, and yes the alignment of the K2 filters could be one of those - remember that the FL1 position determines the BFO that is used for transmit, so if you were using a different filter for receiving, it could explain things.
OTOH, if you are using computer soundcard generated RTTY afsk, then the software can usually handle (and also insert) such an offset. We really need to know more about your setup to provide an intelligent answer. The info above is really just educated guesses.
