You all know about the recent VP8 DXpedition using Elecraft equipment. Here is another - not quite so elaborate and daring. From February 16 to March 7 C6AMD/MM will operate from the MV National Geographic Orion in Antarctic Seas (CQ Zone 13), and under the call sign VP8DPC while moored in the territorial waters of South Georgia Island (February 26 to March 1) and while moored/docked in the territorial waters of The Falkland Islands (March 4 - 5). As these are not land-base operations, there is no DXCC credit. The rig is an Elecraft K3 and 53 foot long wire with a 9:1 unun. Operation will be CW and SSB on all HF bands, propagation willing.
