I was interested to see in the February 2016 issue of Scientific American a book review of “Contact Sport” by J. George. The book is about the 2014 WRTC contest. Nice to see that there is a book about it but even nicer to see a review in Sci Am. The book describes, according to the review, “the surprisingly thrilling world of competitive ham radio.” Useful for showing to a spouse, to say that huddling with a K3 in the dark at 3:00 AM a few times a year is not a singular mania.
