I used a SignaLink for quite a few years and then I changed to a
Tascam US-122 mkII. When I used the SignaLink on PSK, I had to
ride the RF gain to keep the digitized audio volume within
acceptable input levels. With the Tascam, I no longer need to do
that. The downside of the Tascam is it requires special drivers
which aren't available for ARM linux.
You can get by with a minimal sound card, but there is value in
a better one.
