I have an HP desktop from Staples that started out with Windows 7 Home Office and an HP laptop ... also from Staples ... with Windows 7. Both have Norton anti-virus protection that updates nightly, DX4WIN logging programs, and N1MM+ contest loggers. They are both set up with the utilities to do updates of the K3, P3, KPA500, KAT500, KX3, PX3, KXPA100, etc. Both have 4-port USB hubs, photo editing programs and other assorted devices hooked up.
I use MS Excel for coordinating Montana's VHF and UHF repeaters. The program is "busy" with about 1200 lines of data. Both (automatically) updated to Windows 10 a few weeks ago. They are connected 24/7 to the Internet via a secured router and CenturyLink DSL and spend several hours prowling on line each night. Most likely due to Century Link and Norton I seldom get SPAM. The point of all the above ... it all works and doesn't quit.
