Well, it makes unassisted S/P a lot faster; just tune for the next blip. And, if you have directional antennas, like a NE beverage on 160 or 80, it helps to pre-qualify some signals as to multiplier possibility. And it certainly helps to see how close the interference is when you're running. I wouldn't contest without it now. But I don't do fone so maybe that colors my judgement.
