David, I did exactly what Bob is suggesting, and I used one of the extra ports to connect my small regulated power supply to keep the K2 internal battery fully charged. I use a 50A - 13.6 VDC power supply and battery system to operate most of my station equipment including a repeater, but 13.6V will not keep the K2 battery charged. So I built up a small regulated supply powered by a "Wall-Wart" that operates at about 14.25V to float the K2 battery. You can probably come up with something for these ports to enhance your station as well. 73, Bill, K5GCW

Seeing those idle connectors just sitting there might give you some ideas for a useful mod :-) 73, Bob N6WG The Little Station with Attitude -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of David Douglass Sent: Saturday, February 25, 2006 2:38 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Elecraft] Unused back panel holes Hi All, Regarding the unused holes on the K2 back-panel.. I've been thinking about plugging these with rubber plugs, as I think the holes/green tape looks a little unsightly. I wonder if anyone has done this, and whether anyone knows a source of plugs that are suitable and the correct size. I'm specifically looking for the plugs for the 2 sets of XVTR holes, as all the rest are soon to be filled in with accessories..
