bandwidth is not the problem, you can run a remote reliably on a 128 kBit/s connection (been there, done that). The problem with satellite internet is latency! For remote you want to stay below 100 ms RTT (round trip time), better yet below 70 ms for a smooth experience. With satellite you're talking about > 1 sec RTT which is just unusable for remote.

well at that speed.
