Or, make up a short adapter cable from the K3 to the microphone plug. That way, neither the microphone nor the K3 is modified.

Be cautious of those with an amplifier which need a voltage on pin 5 - Elecraft puts the DC voltage on pin 6, so those will not work unless the mic plug wiring is altered.
