Cary,

You must get the VFO range select voltages within an acceptable range before
you will be able to hear any signals - your 7.95 volts says that the VCO
frequency is out of range (and therefore on the wrong frequency) - first
things first!!!

First make certain you have set D19 = Y in the menu, then adjust L30 to
obtain somewhere between 6 and 7 volts when tuned to 4000 kHz - with the
K60XV installed it may be closer to 7 volts when everythig is adjusted
within range.

After that, if you still have almost 8 volts when the frequency is set to
5300, you have something wrong in the VFO Range Selection area. Check the
capacitor (C71) that you changed to be certain it is 120 pf and check the
soldering of C71, D19 and D20. Check to be certain the orientation of D19
and D20 are correct.

I assume you had readings on R30 that were within range before adding the
K60XV - if that is true, then the problem can be found in the components
that you added to the VFO Range Selection area - C71, D19 and D20.

Once you find the problem, check the ends of each band to be certain the
voltage at R30 is within range at all band edges - if not, re-adjust L30 and
check again.
