Yes, and it does produce a tone noticeably closer to a sine wave. However, as a 
"certifiable" O.T. for years my transmit sidetone was just the squawks, bleats 
and thumps the receiver made when the transmitter overloaded it before I 
graduated to a homebrew oscillator that produced a sawtooth output, so the idea 
of pursuing a musically-pure sidetone has never been an issue for me. I made 
the mod more out of curiosity than an issue with the original tone.
