Fellow Elecrafters:
Overall, my new K2 is performing wonderfully.
However, I notice that if I set the requested power to some nominal
level (typically 5 watts) the indicated power often creeps up to
maybe 6 or 7 bars, under normal keying (typically 20 wpm). If I go to
TUNE, the power will start to creep up almost immediately from 5 to
maybe 6.5 Watts. I usually do not stay in TUNE mode for more than a second.
This happens with both a matched antenna (I use a tuner and an
antenna analyzer, and get very close to SWR = 1, before I switch the
K2 into the circuit) or a dummy load.
Is this normal?
Also, when I'm in TUNE mode several numbers are displayed. The first
one looks like the power level. What do the numbers after the power level mean?
