Thanks for the suggestions so far - tried each several times but the K3 is still toast.....

All you have to do is turn everything off including the computer. To turn off the the K-3 you have to remove the power connection. Next, turn on the computer. After the computer boots up, connect the power to the K-3 and turn it on.
