Cary, I don't have any really good ideas about what may be wrong (other than to simply say "its broke" <G>), but I suggest that you turn the manual to Appendix E and follow the steps outlined in the Receiver Signal Tracing section.
As another alternative, you can try the "Cheap and Dirty Signal Tracing" that Tom Hammond has advocated - the document is on the Elecraft website under Builder Resources - then look at Troubleshooting Tips.
