Hi, Michael. Do you have firmware 5.14 or later installed in the K3? The current production release is 5.50 which is the recommended firmware at this point.
If your firmware is okay, be sure the board is correctly aligned in the socket on the RF board so all the "pins" are engaged. Presumably it all works with the old KSYN3 board in place? With "TECHMD ON" and pressing the display button and rotating VFO B knob I do not see SYN1 in the VFO B part of the display! Also there is no LED light coming on - on the KSYN3a board at all.
