Wow Joe, you put yours together fast! In about the same time I've managed to modify my manual and stuff about 1/3 of the parts into the control board :-)
My K2 is going together with the rework eliminators and UNPCBs as well. I'm not too far through the process and so far the re/UNPCBs have just added effort - just like you'd expect! I found the effort of modifying the K2 manual to be painful. In many instances it would have been easier to just delete complete steps in the original manual and replace them with a reference to the RE manual. That would be easier to do than editing the K2 manual by hand. It took a few hours of careful reading & redlining to get the changes into the manual. Now that that part is done, I believe the extra work during assembly will be rather minor and the savings as I add options to the final rig will be wonderful. - Keith KD1E - -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Joerg Tack It took me two weekend days and the evenings during the week in between to get the bare K2 ready for the first QSOs. ... Of course without finishing the top cover installation with the speaker which came a few days later. ... _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
