Thank you group for the PL259 plug soldering lessons. There were many
suggestions for me to chew on.

One of the methods uses a torch idea. It turns out I have the correct torch
but I was using the Weller butane soldering iron as a torch, different
amount of heat.

I have an old Weller electric that I can try the "connector is the tip"
method.
 
>From the discussion, my RG59 must be the cheap stuff as the braid seems
wimpy compared to the RG8X I have, where I successfully soldered the RG8X
plug.

The crimp idea makes sense.
