An alternative thought. INRAD makes a decent product and has been around for years. I've used their roofing filter in my FT-1000 and I think it was in my FT-897 also(?). If I were looking to refit an existing rig, any rig, with a roofing filter I'd give serious consideration to INRAD's offerings.
Specifications are a consideration. I'm not sure how the two products compare in the lab. If both are very similar then I'd say thank you to INRAD for selling at the lower price. Don't get me wrong. I really enjoy my Elecraft. One of the best rigs I've ever owned and definitely the best when portable.
