Hi Ho All, Absolutely no disrespect here, I am an extremely loyal and prolific Elecraft user/builder.
The KX1 and K1 are gone and the KPA 1500 is ascending. I have ordered a QRP Labs QCX, a very innovative and kit oriented radio. The mantle at the lower end has moved on.
