But the electrons only get less than a micron back before they get sent forward again, and they've only had about 1/120th of a second to rest. You are lucky they are not unionised, with those working conditions!

Yes indeed! For many years, unscrupulous electric power companies have been capitalizing on the fact that they send electrons to our house and charge us for them, we toast the bread with them, and then ... get this ... the electrons we paid for go back to the power company!! They get away with this because none of us ever inspect our electricity closely.
