This is more a reply to everyone and not just one specific person. I received many great responses with fantastic ideas. Some I have tried in the past some I have not.
I would like to thank all of you for your ideas and well wishes. This gives me hope for mankind. On the question of RF and pacemakers/ICD's I agree there is a greater chance of getting hit by lightning than RF affecting the device BUT people do get hit by lightning so their chances are one. I have had 4 previous ICD's implanted and have done the research on all and have never had a problem so I doubt I will with this but right now, after being in the hospital since Nov 20th, I need to remote control the station for if and when it happens again. The radio simulator is not appealing to me nor will I pay someone else to use their station. Again thank you for all of your great suggestions. 73, Tim, KQ8M [email protected] -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Don Wilhelm Sent: Friday, January 5, 2018 8:15 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Elecraft] OT: Pigremote availability Tim, One helpful feature of the K3 is the availability of TX TEST - that does not transmit any RF but all other the transmit controls work. So you can work at setting the audio levels sitting right next to the K3 with no danger. Once you have everything set up, turn TX TEST off and move to a safe location. 73, Don W3FPR On 1/5/2018 7:39 AM, Chester Latawiec wrote: The most difficult part is setting up audio levels. The plus side is that once you've got the audio all worked out, the digital stuff like FT8 is a snap to impliment. > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [email protected] ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [email protected]
