Byron, I believe Diode D10 on the RF Board would prevent the battery from discharging out through the Power Connector J3. For example, one cannot measure the battery voltage at the power connector. This diode blocks current flow in that direction. Additionally, the charging circuit for the battery (resistor and diode) might fool the CBA even if you could do it through the power connector.
You coule open up the K2 and take the positive lead off the battery and then check it that way, direct to the battery. 73, N4TVC, Randy, FM18is K2 0254, K1 0029, KX1 0137 -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of ARS NZ3O Sent: Monday, April 24, 2006 11:46 PM To: elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Elecraft] Elecraft es West Mountain Radio I have an Elecraft K2 with KBT2 Battery Option. I also have a West Mountain Radio CBA (battery analyzer). Can the CBA test the KBT2 by simply connecting the CBA to the 14VDC input connector, or does the battery need to be removed? Thanks! 73, Byron _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr.
