I took 10 years to build my serial #1xxx K2 kit. I started the kit in about
'99 and put it aside when we had an addition being built. Over the years, I
recorded and kept tract of all the mods and updated parts. I ordered and set
aside crystals, firmware (didn't even use one of the chip sets) and other
mod kits. I edited the assembly instructions as time went along and in about
2010, I got the kit and parts out, refreshed my understanding of the
assembly and inserting mods, etc, and finished it in about a week or so. And
it worked perfectly. I have had opportunities to sell it, but somehow it
seems like an old friend.
