Folks, Me and the "Boys" are heading off to the Rockies tomorrow.
Rooster and Peanut my 2-pack goats are head up to Mt Herman about
10-minutes from here - part of the Pikes Peak National Forest (about
15 miles north of where w0rw/Paul is said to be) Not sure my trek
qualifies as a "park" but it's close and has lots of good trails and
good radio locations etc. It's about 9000' ASL.

We'll be using my KX1 on internal battery (1.2W) with Plam paddle and
computer ribbon cable dipole and long wire. I said "we" I meant "I"
the goats aren't licensed OPs (yet). I haven't tried goat-moblie yet
but we're working up to that! Just getting Rooster to carry the gear
is good enough so far. I can't imagine what he'll think about having a
8' whip waving above his head wacking tree limbs off as he goes? But
soon he'll be wearing a cross buck saddle complete with solar panel
and panniers able to pack ~40lbs! Pack goats are truly a QRP pack
animal! Low eco-impact, requires no special food (eats anything and
everything) doesn't bark, bite or chase. Yet follows the old
alpha-goat (me) like a faithfully dog. Albeit goats are prey for Mt
lion! (I carry a heavy QRO cat deterrent)

BTW - Goats absolutely hate water so if the weather doesn't clear up
by tomorrow (Sat) it may turn into an early Sunday morning hike
instead of Saturday.

See you on the trail! ~ Steve/n0tu & the "boys"
