I keep my KX2 in a Pelican 1300 case.  It is a small but deep case—with enough 
depth to fit a 7 AHr 4-cell LiFePO4 battery and some kit in a bottom layer with 
the KX2 and more stuff on top.  I plan to add a SideCarPlus memory keyer to 
that top layer.  This is a waterproof go station for bike trailer or car 
camping and a bit heavy for backpacking
