Hi Paul:

And... that's the argument that FT-817 owners have used for staying with the 
817... the KX rigs do not have 2 M or 70cm capability
and all modes, as well.  Those owners live with the poor battery performance, 
etc., or buy aftermarket alternatives.  By the time it all gets added up, it's 
expensive.  But.... you do have that extra VHF/UHF capability, and that's worth 
it for them.
