Noel,
You just need to tell Win4K3 software to use COM port 9 and all should
work fine.
Be aware that if you plug that USB to serial adapter into another USB
socket, the COM port assignment may be changed.

Now I have to move this set up to a laptop computer, and there is no
serial port on this laptop.
I have in my shack an IOGEAR USB TO SERIAL adapter model GUC232A.
I connect it to the lap top, and I SEE COM9 in the device manag of the
laptop computer.
