WELL, to improve my electronic skills, I have just finished building the Norcal 40a -not from the enclosed directions but from the awesome book: THE ELECTRONICS OF RADIO.
I recommend that anyone who wants to get a deeper grasp of how rigs and radios work judy get the book and get the kit and slowly do it. You dont need to deal with the math but do try to do the problems. A sig generator, DMM, and oscilloscope would be good to have too.... I now have the confidence to start guilding the KX1 that is sitting om the shelf! LET THE SOLDER FLOW!!! Being retired is great!!
