I have had several FT-240 #31 cores crack with big chunks out of them or break in pieces. They were just lying on the ground with several turns of RG6 through them. They were in rain, snow and ice for a winter here in upstate NY. These were for receiving. I will be building new chokes and put them in a 4 x 4 plastic sealed box. 73, N2TK, Tony
