The M1 - M4 switches can be used for two purposes: (1) CW memories; and (2) programmable functions or macros. Might you have previously assigned some of them for such a purpose?
>From a version of the K3 manual: Any M1 M4 switch that is used as a programmable function switch will not be available for message play.
