Bert, I don't know that this is necessarily specific to 'older' KX3's. My KX3, S/N: 6080 AF/RF-SQL and KEYER/MIC controls behave the same way if the knob is rotated very quickly. It's always been that way. Not a big deal; I just need to remember to turn the controls more slowly.
