Just did the ATU replacement on SN 0178. It seems to solve the problems
of half the display going blank on 10 meters, and the SWR indicators
flashing on 40. The procedure is quite straight-forward, mainly
involving removing and replacing a large number of little screws. It
took about an hour. It was certainly a lot less trouble, not to mention
expense, than shipping the amp to Elecraft. And it was an opportunity to
get a look at the fine workmanship inside the amplifier.
Thanks to Elecraft for quickly shipping the replacement board, with
prepaid return shipping.
