That makes sense Wayne. I was not faulting the tuner at all. The comment I was responding was that having the internal tuner was an advantage of the new amp. Its somewhat limited range may not obviate the need for a broader range external tuner if required by the antenna system. I run SteppIR antennas, where a tuner is not a necessity.

An SWR range of 3:1 max is a reasonable full-legal-limit criteria for many operators (including our focus group) when using an internal ATU.
