If one wants to use cocoaModem for RTTY, PSK or the other modes it supports, note that it runs fine under Mac OS 10.12 and has been reported to run under Mac OS 10.13 (I personally haven't tried it.)
cocoaModem is a 32 bit program and possibly won't run under OS 10.14 and above that might require programs to be 64 bit. The source code is available for cocoaModem but the developer hasn't supported the program in quite some time. Macs as supplied with OS 10.14 and above could have a problem with cocoaModem - which is an excellent program for dual receive split RTTY operation. So it's more than just which Mac to get, it's will the machine run the applications you want to run.
