Hi, I guess you do not need to removing cells even you planning to put on shelf for 2-3 months when you have NiMH inside. There should not be the leakage risk and when you will stock it charged it should not be an issue. Also I do not removing the bat even although I am using the KX3 powered from PSU, just charging is OFF and they can stay inside peacefully. ...just me experience.
