CHP just did a major upgrade recently (within the past two years) and are still using 39, 42, 44, and 45 MHZ as well as all the VHF/UHF stuff and multiband scanners.
I've been told that they run 110 watt low band GE radios. 73, Todd KH2TJ ________________________________ heard (about ten years ago), that 40 MHz band was still used by the highway patrol in California because it propagates better in the mountainous terrain.
