I have a few issues, but in the fullness of time they will be repaire...
What sorts of issues; the list here is a great place to ask; I would be
quick to point out that I have a lot of friends here that have helped me
in the past, and I am sure they would help you are well.
BTW should I be able to screw the knerled nut on the key jack?
I am not clear on exactly what you want to know; on my KX1, there is
nothing screwed onto the jack itself. Could it be that your jack came
with some hardware for panel mounting it that is unused? if that is what
it is, in my opinion, throw it in your spare parts drawer as not needed
on the KX1.
There is a treaded hole above the paddle jack; the screw that fits that
comes with the KXPD1 kit; it always goes into the top hole of the
paddle, regardless if the paddle is set for right or left handed use,
and it threads into that hole so that the paddle is retained and doesn't
move around.
The only other knurled screws I am aware of associated with the KX1 are
those 2 black ones that hold the top and bottom together.
My key jack is flush with the front of the case...
Mine is too.
Is this normal?
I think so; every KX1 and every photo I have seen of one look this way
to me.

Ken,
Congratulations!
I always enjoy the first QSO with a rig just built as one of the finest.
I hope you will continue to enjoy your KX1 as much as I enjoy mine.
