Steve and all,
I used cqrlog for a couple years and it's impressive. For sake of
simplicity, however, I went back to the trio of xlog & xdx with hamlib
support. I made a minor modification xdx so that when I select a new
(for me) dx, I can then paste the call into xlog.
As to Elecraft software, no, it is not compatible with modern versions
of linux without some effort. For some odd reason, Elecraft only makes
32-bit binaries available. You can load those libraries onto Ubuntu,
but it's a lot of bloat. I chose to use unofficial 64-bit versions which
work fine so far.

Thanks so much for the numerous responses. A month ago a bought a 13" Dell
with "factory loaded" UBUNTU and have been very pleased with its
performance. I'm very new to UBUNTU but have run Puppy in the past and
have been very pleased with it. Two more questions if I may... Is UBUNTU
compatible with the Elecraft maintenance software? And, any thoughts about
CQRLOG logging program? Thanks & 73... Steve (ARS: WB4SED) //
